Live a simpler and more fulfilling life using these eleven tips.

There is no magic to living a simpler and more fulfilling life, but the key is you need to have a formula and stick to it.

If you want to see a change in your life, keep these important thoughts in mind.

1. Be an All-Time Forgiver

Of course, this is easier said than done.

It’s not a question of ‘if’, it’s a question of ‘when’. At some point in your life, you will get hurt. Or you might be the one doing the hurting – you will hurt your friends, family and other people around you.

You might be a disappointment to those who love you in some aspect of your life.

Your partner may betray you (which can be an ultra-painful experience).

A business partner may not come to terms with a deal you want to strike with them.

These are just a few of the bad things you’re likely to encounter. How do you cope with these challenges?

Well, you may say “I will never forgive them” but that’s not a solution that’s beneficial to your mental health & well-being. When you don’t forgive you risk suffering from depression.

The best solution is to forgive and forget. It might take some time to be ready to truly forgive someone, but the sooner you do it, the sooner you’ll be able to move on with your life.

2. Don’t Overspend

According to life coach Miguel Norris, most people are not living a fulfilling life today due to overspending. In fact, some people think that borrowing is the best option to satisfy their needs. Many of the celebrities we strive to be like are actually living a penniless life because they spend more than they earn.

To live a simpler and more fulfilling life, you should not prioritize borrowing. In fact, borrowing should be your last option.

If you start spending less than you earn today, you will be a step ahead in preparing for tomorrow. There are plenty of ways you can save more money by making simple changes in your daily habits.

3. Stay Happy and Don’t be Jealous

Happiness is a choice. You have to commit yourself to stay happy. In fact, it’s something you may never acquire if you don’t put effort into it.

The best way to live a fulfilling life is to stop being jealous. Jealousy is a toxic emotion that erodes away your attempts to be happy.

Although it is said that human beings are made in the image of God, not all of us are the same. Some people are born rich and some are born poor. Some are blessed with natural beauty and some are not. Some are more intelligent than others.

The reality is there’s always someone out there who looks better than you, or is smarter than you, or is more skilled than you in some way.

This is a reality that you cannot deny and once you accept this, you will only be concerned about what you have and what you should do to get what you don’t have.

To stop being jealous of others, you should develop a habit of supporting others when they achieve something, although this is easier said than done.

Remember, when you support others in their achievements, they will return the favor as well. This way, you will live a simple and more fulfilling life. You’re also more likely to meat your goals when you have support of those around you – if you act jealous towards them, they’re less likely to support you in your endeavors.

4. Be Good to Yourself

It all starts with you. If you can’t be good to yourself, then how can you expect other people to be good to you?

Your body is yours, and you need to give it the utmost care necessary. You need to safeguard your body against anything that can make it weak and the only option you have to achieve this is to love yourself.

No one will accept you for what you are apart from yourself.

5. Concentrate on the Good Things

Life is full of ups and downs. You can’t always live a smooth life. Sometimes you will get disappointments and sometimes things will work your way.

You just need to focus on the positive.

No one is perfect and we all fail but our failures are not solely caused by our imperfections.

If you fail, there must be a reason for the failure. The best thing to do if you fail is to acknowledge that there is a bright side in every dark side. Learn from failures so that you will be less likely to fail in the future

HR software operator Leonard Brighton advises people to not focus on the negatives to the extent of failing to recognize the good side of life.

In any case, a bad day doesn’t mean your life is bad.

6. Appreciate What You Have

Appreciate even the smallest milestones or successes you have achieved. We all struggle to achieve great things not knowing that the smallest things we ignore can be what makes life worth living.

If you have always been appreciating the greatest achievements, consciously start to appreciate the small ones and you will see how much more fulfilling your life will become.

7. Don’t Give up on What You Want to Achieve

If you aren’t reaching your dreams, it doesn’t mean you give up on them. It’s the time you should recognize that you’ve lost focus and do everything possible to get to where you wanted to be.

Remember the saying “You are where you dream to be”. That means if you give up on your dreams, then you also give up on yourself.

Once you have tried and failed, relax. Take your failures and rejections as life lessons. Life doesn’t stop when you fail; you should think of how you can turn a new page in life, trust in yourself and you will achieve what you dream of.

8. Make a Life Out of the Impossible

Most people think that their weaknesses are what have made them fail in life. But you can turn your weaknesses to strengths.

With the right approach, you can make a good thing out of a bad thing. Just learn to focus on your goals no matter what situations will want to hinder you from achieving them.

There will always be obstacles to achieving your goals. What sets you apart from others is how you handle those obstacles.

9. Always be Thankful

Most people don’t appreciate the things they have in life. When you start to appreciate the things you have achieved in life so far, you will realize how blessed you are.

After all, you are not dead. Don’t you think that’s something not to be appreciated? It means you still have time to work towards those dreams!

You have plenty of things to be thankful for but are you more focused on the things you don’t have? If so, it might be time to rethink your situation. Of course it’s important to be aware of what you don’t have because that can be the root of how you create some of your goals, but dwelling on those things without appreciating all that you’ve accomplished will drive you crazy!

When you start to appreciate what you have, you attract what you don’t have. If you focus on the big things you don’t have, you will lose the small things you have.

10. Follow Your Heart

If you start to do things that you love, you will fill your life with joy. For instance, if you love to play soccer, always make time for it. If you do something you don’t love, you will get bored.

11. Accept that You Are Unique

Sometimes we tend to compare ourselves with other people. Although we are all human beings, we are not of the same type. We’re all different. Unique. One of a kind.

Just because they are fruits does not mean an orange is an apple. Comparing yourself with others will make you get disappointed with life. Just love yourself for what you are and accept that you are unique.

Over to You…

As we conclude, we would like to have you answer this question: What makes you happy in life?

Living a simpler life opens doors for meaningful life opportunities you have never imagined.
