Home is where the heart is, and it is important for everyone who owns a house to do general cleaning once in a while. Our clutter piles up as time passes by, and as a responsible homeowner, we should look into some tips on how we could effectively declutter and organize our homes.

Once we see the results of our hard work, the exhaustion from cleaning the house would somewhat become lighter because of the pleasant looking aftermath.

Here are some of the tips that you would have to consider if you would like to organize your home.

Living Room

The living room is where the family stays most of the time, and as a result, it tends to become one of the most disorganized rooms in the house.

Cleaning the living room should start with decluttering the coffee table and using drawers and file cases to hide all of the magazines and papers scattered around the room.

You should also buy a wire clipper to hide all of the cords and maximize the use of the wall by putting photos and paintings in it.

Bedroom

To organize the bedroom, you have to look underneath the bed and see the available spaces beneath. The huge space under the bed can be used to stock bags, storage boxes, or anything that you see as clutter. It is much better if the item will be placed inside the storage box for a more organized look.

Women tend to have more items of clothing and intimate items and should consider some of these storage hacks for bras.

Another thing to consider when organizing the bedroom is maximizing its space. If you do not have a closet, you could buy yourself a drawer where all of the clothes and important items should be kept.

You should always remember that the bedroom is where you sleep and relax, and the room should be organized to give you a better sleep.

Bathroom

The main issue with the bathroom is the lack of storage space. However, it should not be a problem for those who have creative minds. To fix the issue of the lack of storage space inside the bathroom, all you have to do is to look for open walls and put in cabinets inside.

The mounted hangers would also help you save a lot of space, especially for hanging towels and other fabric. Another tip for organizing the bathroom is the use of medicine kit, toilet paper holder, and a single area where all of the hair products will be stored.

Hair products are one of the top causes of clutter inside the bathroom, and it is highly recommended to organize them inside larger containers or boxes.

Kitchen

An organized kitchen makes cooking easier and more enjoyable, and some of the tips for organizing the kitchen are the use of storage boxes with labels for all of the things and devices that you are using when cooking. These things should be stored inside the cupboard or the kitchen cabinets, with the things that are frequently used stored in a place where it can be reached easily.

Bright functional kitchen with kitchen island

Another tip to organize the kitchen is the creation of a container or a box where the spices, seasoning, condiments, and other food items should be kept.

Garage

Organizing the garage should start by cleaning the driveway and putting all of the clutter away. Also, avoid putting additional things on the driveway that can bump into the car.

Things that you’ve got from the driveway should be placed inside a storage box for easy access.

You can also store stuff on overhead mounted brackets. For smaller things like tools and hardware, a pegboard hanging over the wall might work wonders. For sharper objects or heavier machines like saws, power tools, etc, a slim and multi-functional workbench could be attached along the side of the garage.

Conclusion

Cleaning the house is an enjoyable family activity, and every member of the family would love to see each other helping one another to perform such task.

If you have a small and moderate home, cleaning and organizing it would only take a whole day, and it would not be as exhausting as it might look. For bigger homes, you would have to spend at least a day or two to organize everything inside, but in the end, everything will be worth it.

If your home is too big, consider hiring a maid service. However, that should only be used if you truly know you can’t tackle the issue.

Organizing the house would make it more appealing to your visitors, and they would praise you for being able to maintain a clean home.

It is important to note that having a clean house reflects your personality, and it tells a lot about you.
